The city of Lausanne switches to Magnolia 5
Published on 16.07.2018
The city of Lausanne, the capital of the Vaud Canton, has over 120,000 inhabitants and is the fourth largest city in Switzerland. Located on the north shore of Lake Geneva, it is an important center of commerce, banking and universities as well as the seat of the International Olympic Committee. Lausanne is a very culturally active city, peculiarity which made it become a major tourist attraction.
In 2012 Tinext won the first project for the City of Lausanne managing the Lausanne City and Lausanne Tourism websites with Magnolia 4 in order to get rid of the old system, based on a dated, obsolete, and no longer supported technology.
Recently the client decided to migrate its website to Magnolia 5. Tinext has provided Architects as well as Team Leader figures to fulfill this complex and long lasting project which includes different phases: coexistence of the two sites until the end of the migration, an internal search which refers to internal and external websites, e-government, e-commerce and many other integrations.
The challenge? Make all these integrations within a website with more than 45’000 pages!
